We went to the La Brea Tar Pits Monday. It was interesting. This is the main pit. It's big and you can see tar in it and bubbling gas and all kinds of nasty stuff. It smells pretty bad, too. |

The tar just kinda comes up through the ground in that area. You have to be careful where you walk. | 
These elephant looking things fell in the pit and died... a long long time ago. They are Mastodons, not Elephants and not Mammoths. |

I don't know what this thing is but it needs to gain weight. It is skinner than me! | 
Saber-thooth Cat... not Tiger. They are very strict about that. It's different. Either way, nice teeth! | 
There were over 400 Saber-tooth Cat skulls mounted on this wall with cool orange lighting behind them. I think this is a great picture because of the lighting and the look, not so much because of the skulls. |
